Thornton’s decision to remain in Columbus is a crucial one for the Buckeyes entering Jake Diebler’s first season as head coach. He was Ohio State’s best player during the 2023-24 season, leading the team with 15.7 points and 4.8 assists per game.
He becomes the second member of Ohio State’s rising junior class to confirm he will stay with the Buckeyes, joining Felix Okpara, who made the same announcement on Monday.
