On Friday, Atlanta United announced the mutual termination of the contract with Paraguayan forward Erik López, ending a stint that didn’t meet expectations. López’s departure can be seen as a reflection of the club’s current need for restructuring.
Erik López, aged 21, joined Atlanta in 2020 from Olimpia in Paraguay, with high expectations surrounding his talent and offensive skills.
